District 17 Update September 2009

District 17 Public Meeting

 The next District 17 Public Meeting will be held on Tuesday, September 29 at 6:30 p.m. in the Community Room of Republic Bank, 9600 Brownsboro Road.  Aleks Jozic, Community Preparedness Associate with the American Red Cross, will discuss disaster preparedness both at home and at work.    

 

Seasonal Flu Shots

 Councilman Stuckel will host a flu shot clinic on Friday, October 16 between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. at Lyndon City Hall (515 Wood Road).  Seasonal flu shots are $25 and pneumonia shots are $40.  Each must be paid for at the time of service.  Medicare Part B and some Medicare Advantage Plans and Passport Advantage Plans can be billed.  The clinic is for residents 12 years of age and older.  To reserve your flu shot, call 574-1117 or e-mail Glen.Stuckel@louisvilleky.gov by October 8.              

 

Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk

 The American Cancer Society will seek to raise awareness of breast cancer through its 12th Annual Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk on Sunday, October 25 at Waterfront Park.  Registration begins at 11:30 a.m. and the walk has a rolling start from 1-2 p.m.  For more information, call 584-WALK or visit http://makingstrides.acsevents.org/louisville.     

 

NELBA Sponsoring Open House

The North East Louisville Business Association is sponsoring an open house and networking event on Tuesday, October 6 at Karem’s Grill and Pub, 9424 Norton Commons Boulevard.  The event will take place from 5:30-7 p.m.  Free hors d’oeuvres will be available for NELBA members and guests.  For more information contact Karem’s at 327-5646.  No RSVP is required.        

 

District 17 Clean Up

The District 17 Fall Clean Up will be held in conjunction with Brightside’s Community-Wide Clean Up on Saturday, November 7.  Anyone interested in volunteering can meet Councilman Stuckel at the Lyndon Fire Station on Westport Road at 8:30 a.m. that morning.  Some breakfast items will be provided, as will t-shirts and the items needed for the clean up.
