District 17 Update April 2011

District 17 Public Meeting

 
The next District 17 Public Meeting will be held on Monday, April 25 from 6:30-8:00 p.m. at the Sawyer Hayes Community Center, 2201 Lakeland Road.  Mayor Greg Fischer will be the guest speaker.  Representatives from LMPD’s 8th Division, Metro Codes and Regulations, Metro Public Works and MSD will also be in attendance to answer any questions.
 

Merger 2.0 Task Force

The 23-member Merger 2.0 Task Force was created to examine what changes might be implemented for the next decade of merger.  It will focus on four specific areas- Fire and EMS; Solid Waste and Recycling; Public Safety; and Transportation and Infrastructure.  Former Louisville Mayor and County Judge-Executive Dave Armstrong and former County Judge-Executive Rebecca Jackson are co-chairs of the task force.  The first meeting, primarily an organizational meeting, was held last week.  Public hearings are scheduled as well.  The meeting closest to District 17 residents will be held on Monday, April 18 at 7 p.m. at the East Government Center, 200 Juneau Drive.  
 

LABA Luncheon  

 
The Lyndon Area Business Association (LABA) will have a luncheon meeting on Wednesday, April 13 from 12-1 p.m.  Cliff Ashburner, KY Chapter Chairman of the United States Green Building Council, will be the speaker.  The cost is $10 for members and $15 for guests.  If you are interested in attending, please call 339-9115 or e-mail lyndonbusiness@bellsouth.net.
